Morning ladies for this month's collaboration with Marks & Spencer I thought we would look at holiday attire. I don't know about you but the recent mini heatwave has got me longing for lazy days spent on holiday enjoying the sunshine & the break from work. There's nothing quite like it is there. Blue skies, quality time spent with loved ones & the biggest & most pressing decision of the day is where you'll eat that night - bliss!
So without further ado let's talk outfit inspiration. Starting with what to wear when travelling. Personally I always like to wear something pretty tailored that generally involves a jacket, as that's my comfort zone & whilst it's lovely to waft around in boho dresses for a couple of weeks at the end of our holiday I'm always itching to get into a more tailored look that involves a blazer.
I just love the look of all three of the above jackets, from the longer length boucle number to the timeless cream blazer & the gorgeous baby blue double breasted number. Throw on a maxi skirt or jeans, which is my preference as I'm generally cold on the plane & a pretty summer top for when you arrive at your destination & you're good to go.

Once on holiday of course that's when fingers crossed you won't need the extra layer of a jacket or cardi & for warmer climates during the day I don't think you'll ever go wrong with a maxi dress or cotton shorts teamed with a pretty white top. Accessorise with a panama hat & you'll look stylish & cool. I particularly love the look of the striped maxi dress I've featured above for easy styling that would equally look great with a biker/denim jacket & trainers once back home.

Now if you're like me & plan on mainly horizontal beach bed surfing in the day & making the most of the glorious weather, then you probably won't need many day time outfits as the majority of your time will be spent in swimwear. So evening time & going out to dinner is the perfect opportunity to dress up & get your glad rags on. Whether you prefer separates that you can mix & match or the ease of dresses that can be accessorised with different shoes & bags Marks has lots to tempt us.
As you can see I've put together a few looks above & below, featuring pieces that have caught me eye & would equally work once back home. From denim culottes with a silk top, to statement maxi skirts, to colourful dresses.
Naturally having fallen in love with all things green this season & with a huge weakness for broderie anglaise you can see why I've featured the below stunning dress & I just love the gold shimmer to the knitted dress below, which would show off your sunkissed skin & equally look stunning teamed with a denim jacket for cooler days back in the UK.

Plus a simple black maxi dress is extremely useful if you're travelling light, especially when it can be worn in a number of ways.

I think for a lot of us Marks has always been one of our 'go to' stores for swimwear & whilst they have a huge array of different colours, styles & patterns with something to suit everyone's taste in their holiday shop, I personally always prefer plain swimwear that can be accessorised with pretty kaftans. Plus they have the added benefit of not being so obvious if someone else poolside just so happens to be wearing the same one ;-)

Moving onto accessories & I can highly recommend their panama hat, which is exactly the same as the one I got last year. Yes it's from the mens section but with this style you really can't tell & the best bit is, it's available in three different sizes meaning if you have a large head like me you'll find one to fit :-)
Now one thing I pack quite of few of when jetting off on holiday is statement clutch bags. Something that will bring a little life to my look & also preferably has lots of colour & this season I think Marks have nailed it on their selection. I mean seriously how stunning are these above beaded clutch bags. You can't beat a statement bag for bringing a simple summer dress to life & it's the perfect way of adding a little personality to your look, that of course is ideal for nights out once you're back home.

Finally the other thing to remember packing when jetting off (apart from passports & currency!) is of course sunscreen, together with aftersun. As well as sunglasses to protect your eyes & take away the glare of the sun & all those necessary toiletries. Of course these are all bulky & heavy items so investing in travel sets that won't take up much room are perfect for saving some extra kilos for that holiday shopping but equally makes packing so much quicker then having to decant all your products into travel size containers.
Unfortunately for us we've still got a few months until we jet off to Mallorca but that's not going to stop me longing for lazy summer days & in fact I'm taking some holiday inspiration with today's look & wearing the perfect sun accessory - white trousers!
We're off out to celebrate my sister's birthday so I'm breaking out this summer look & teaming with some classic navy. You can't beat classic off white trousers for being the perfect dress up/dress down addition to pair with all our classic neutrals. I absolutely love these peg legged off white trousers that are in a great crepe like fabric. I love a cropped pair of trousers as I find the look a little more sexy when the ankle is shown so I'm wearing an 8 short in the below pictures & for reference I'm 5'7".

So ladies anyone a top suitcase packer? If anyone has any top tips I'd love to hear them plus do you fold or roll your clothes when travelling? I'm a folder as whilst I've read that rolling is the way to go I always worry that delicate clothing will end up more creased & I'm too chicken to try it!
Enjoy your Sunday & as always I'll see you tomorrow.
