Happy Thursday ladies, as you may no doubt know it's Ladies Day at Royal Ascot today. For the past 4 years I've got together with a group of girlfriends & dressed up & celebrated the occasion. Not that we've ever been to Royal Ascot itself, instead we've stuck much closer to home & either gone to the celebrations at the village club or to a local hotel. This year we're back in the village making it easy to stumble home after a fun day.
Needless to say I love the excuse to be able to dress up & wear something a little more glam for the occasion & this year I've stuck with an all blue theme & finished the look off with a statement fascinator. I actually bought the fascinator on eBay in January - as soon as I spotted it I just knew it would be perfect, especially as it contains my favourite colours & is something a little bit different. What I hadn't realised was just how much of I bargain I had, had. I managed to buy my fascinator preloved for the grand sum of £40 including postage & I've only just discovered whilst looking for the brand when writing this post that her fascinators are priced £800+ so I'm even more chuffed with my headwear!

My top is a wardrobe favourite that I snapped up in the sales a few years ago & luckily goes perfectly with the silk skirt I was gifted by Peter Hahn a few months back. They're not quite the same shade of blue but I can just about get away with it & my shoes & bag were also items already in my wardrobe - so it just goes to show great timeless staples are perfect for coming together to create an outfit.
Right I'm off to enjoy the day. Back as always in the morning & in the meantime I quick heads up that Boden have just launched their summer sale with up to 50% off here!
