marks and Spencer hair turban

Morning ladies, today I want to talk beauty, in particular beauty items that are everyday life savers - that I've personally been using for a long time & wouldn't be without.  Plus the best bit is that none of the items featured cost a fortune & are readily available at Marks & Spencer.

So let's get started with an item I love so much I even have a spare one that I keep in our suitcase to take away on holiday.  For me the hair turban is so much better than simply wrapping a towel round your head.  For one it stays put & doesn't unravel.  Nor does it pull your hair from the roots or weigh heavy on your head plus it allows you to freely move around whilst it removes the excess water from your hair.  On top of this it results in less heat damage due to less drying time & also less risk of damage to your hair from rigorous towel drying - it really is a win win!

My second beauty saviour is the Detangler, now I've been using the original version since goodness knows when but I hadn't realised that they produced one specifically for fine, colour-treated & distressed hair.  So I've passed my original one to hubby & am now loving the updated version for keeping my coloured hair in the best condition possible.

WOW dream coat

Speaking of coloured hair then since going lighter I have found the above hair product a complete life saver.  I've always suffered with humidity & can literally feel my hair raising from the roots at the slightest amount of rain, which has of course got worse the lighter my hair colour has gone but a few squirts of this & it really has made a huge difference, so much so I can just about get away with light drizzle without resulting in fuzzy hair :-)

WOW Dark Brown Root Cover Up

My final hair beauty saviour has to be this root cover up, which is by the far the best one I have tried to date.  A little of this really does go a long way & will last on my hair until I wash it.  Think eyeshadow for your roots - so easy to apply & instant grey/white hair coverage.

alpha-h fresh daily face cloths

These fresh cotton face cloths are another 'must have' for me - designed to be used with your face cleanser of choice & perfect for giving your skin a thorough cleanse & remove make up whilst gently exfoliating your skin.  Plus as they come in a handy pack of 7 there's one cloth for every day of the week so no worries about transferring any dirt from the previous day.

marks and Spencer face roller

This next product is the only thing I don't currently use but I've been hearing so many good things about face rollers that I reckon for the sake of £9.50 it's definitely worth a try.  Plus of course it's a great excuse to give yourself that little bit of pampering at the end of a long stressful day.

radial dragon's blood eye mask

Eye masks are my weekly weakness & something I always make time for.  Cool, soothing & they really do work.  These are perfect for applying whilst chilling on the sofa of an evening & instead of leaving them on for the recommended 20-30 minutes I leave them on for as long as possible & then if there's any excess left on my skin gently massage this into my eye area.

glamglow gravity mud firming treatment

Another weekly treat I always make time for is the above firming mask, that may have generated the odd look from delivery men when I've opened the door fully glammed up with a silver face!  The fun part of using this product is the peeling off once it has dried & I always play the game of trying to peel if off in one continuous piece (think peeling an orange!).  I just love how it leaves my skin feeling so smooth & my complexion brighter in appearance.

Burt's Bees tinted lip balm

For days when you don't wear make up or are heading to the gym then these tinted lip balms are perfect for adding a little colour without looking too made up.  I tended to use these all year round - for autumn/winter when walking the dogs/heading to pilates then in summer time for protecting my lips whilst wearing some colour.

Leighton Denny small crystal nail file

My last beauty 'must have' has to be a crystal nail file - so much better for your nails, not to mention long-lasting.  Plus it's the ideal size for keeping in your handbag for all those nail emergencies.

marks and Spencer Christmas jewellery advent calendar

Finally before I share today's outfit I just had to share this advent calendar, for any jewellery lover like myself this has to be the ultimate way to countdown to Christmas - 12 interchangeable charms to wear with the earrings & necklace included - what's not to love?!

Back to today & it's all about a couple of new wardrobe additions.  Along with my new found love of winter whites I couldn't resist this tan leather biker jacket that's true to size & is going to be brilliant for the coming season as it's a great weight & has quilted lining so should prove nice & warm too.

The other new addition is these gorgeous new cropped wool trousers that are available in 3 different lengths.  A real timeless staple that comes up slightly on the large size so if you're in-between sizes consider going down a size.  I went for a 6 regular in mine.

  1. Love, love, LOVE the caramel colored leather biker! Fabulous! Great beauty supplies; I use the Tangle Teezer and hair turban--both work wonderfully! The Advent calendar looks like a very fun way to count down to the holidays! Thanks for the inspiration, Jane!

    1. It's gorgeous isn't it Deb - not my normal colour at all but I reckon if I wear neutral, grey, black & navy with it, it will work for my colouring :-)
The hair turban & tangle teaser are both great products aren't they - definitely couldn't be without them.
