Morning ladies for this month's collaboration with Marks & Spencer I thought we'd talk party wear after all the festive season is creeping up on us at an alarming rate!

No doubt you've already started to make plans to meet up with friends, perhaps a works do to look forward to & of course there's also Christmas Day & New Years Eve to think about. So in an effort to take away the dilemma of 'what to wear?' I've put together 10 different outfit ideas, mainly consisting of separates that you'll be able to utilise throughout the year.

So lets get started with outfit one - the ever stylish & timeless tuxedo trouser suit. The options for this look are endless & perfect if you've got a few parties to attend. Simply pin the the blazer to protect your modesty & thrown on with a statement necklace. Or team with a simple lace trim camisole like this one for layers or even style with an effortless silk shirt, such as this one. Then during the year team the blazer with a crew neck knit/breton/slogan tee & jeans & pair the trousers with a statement shirt or crew neck jumper for work/night out.

My second outfit suggestion it's all about the added bit of sparkle. This sequin top would be perfect teamed with these cropped leather trousers & statement shoe & of course it could also be paired with a lace pencil skirt or even dressed down with boyfriend jeans for a night in with friends. Then with the leather trousers the options are endless - perfect with a breton & trainers, dress up with a statement blouse for a night out or wear to the office with ballet flats & a timeless white shirt.

Keeping with the bling for my third outfit & this stunning ombre midi skirt, which I just love the idea of styling this with a simple cashmere knit for Christmas Day. Equally you could wear with a silk/classic white shirt & then dress down with a simple tee, denim jacket & trainers for later in the year.

Anyone else remember coat dresses from earlier a year? I used to have a navy double breasted one that I swapped the plain blue buttons with gold brass ones & always felt so put together whenever I wore it. So this tuxedo mini dress really appeals as an alternative to the classic little black dress & is just as timeless in it's own right.

Then for my fifth outfit suggestion, how about a look that will never date - you just can't go wrong with an elegant silk shirt & cropped trouser combo. Just add in some statement accessories such as a leopard print bag, as I've shown above & not only have you can a great stylish look, you've also got some great wardrobe staples to wear all year long.

If like us you tend to spend Christmas Day at home then you'll probably be looking to wear something that feels special but is equally comfy to wear, cook the Christmas dinner in & relax on the sofa snoozing to this year's 'must watch' Christmas Day film. So a look similar to the above, which is built around this stunning knitted fit & flare skirt with tie waist shirt & statement ankle boots would be ideal.

Now I couldn't not write a party wear post & not feature a splash or two of Bet. I find the one problem when deciding what to wear for a party can be the fact that it's so cold outside & whilst you may not necessarily want your special outfit to involve thermals you do need something to keep you warm whilst getting to & from the party. So a statement coat such as the above faux fur number is perfect for making an entrance, as well as keeping you toasty & of course can quickly be discarded once inside.

Another great 'go to' look for party season & a great alternative to the little black dress is a simple black jumpsuit. The neckline on the above one would be super flattering & can so easily be accessorised with a statement belt to accentuate your waist.

Finally how about a slip midi dress this Christmas? Perfect for pairing with a leather biker or tuxedo jacket & great for getting maximum wear during the summer holiday season with a pair of metallic sandals or black espadrille wedges. You could even wear during the day under a cashmere knit with ankle boots for a simple everyday look.

Back to today & we're still driving through France, so here's an outfit I prepared earlier, which is carrying on my leather obsession with this new midi leather skirt that would be perfect for dressing up for the festive season - either with a simple crew neck cashmere knit perhaps in festive red for Christmas Day & for a night out a lace trim camisole. Then for everyday or more casual occasions a simple silk shirt as I've styled mine below.
