Morning ladies, I think it's probably fair to say that once us ladies reach a certain age then no matter how we've previously felt about our skin we start noticing those little differences & begin searching for that illusive 'hold back time' potion that will stop age from catching up with us & those little lines becoming more pronounced & deeper.
Needless to say so far there's no miracle cream. Of course there is always the Botox/filler route but if like me you prefer to not to go down this route then it's all about finding the best skincare that works for you & instead helps highlight your natural beauty whilst treating those areas of concern.
I was recently contacted by ARK Skincare to see if I would like to trial some of their products & of course in the hope of discovering a new brand & products that would help me achieve better skin I didn't hesitate in saying yes.
If like me, you've not previously heard about the brand then let me introduce you. ARK Skincare is a brand that is made from bioactive natural ingredients, is vegan friendly & made in Britain. Their company ethos is 'beautiful skin at every age' & they believe that by making skincare easier to navigate by age & benefit then we can celebrate the age we are.
Consisting of three key age specific product lines (Protect - for teens & 20s, Defend - for 30s & 40s & Defy for over 50s), each range is supported by 'skinperfectors' which offer effective targeted treatment products aimed at specific skin concerns. These together with their 'skinessential' range (a group of everyday products for all ages) are designed to provide you with a bespoke skincare programme that's unique to you.
When I was contacted by the brand I mentioned that I had recently been through quite a tiring & stressful period with our move & relocation to France so this together with my age was taken into consideration by the brand when they sent across the samples for me to try.
This is what I received & have been using for the past few weeks.
Needless to say great skin starts with the right cleanser & I have long been a fan of double cleansing. So I was delighted to discover my package included their Pre Cleanse & Make-Up Remover. Rich in Omegas 3, 6 & 9 this product will remove waterproof make-up & can either be used as just an eye make-up remover by applying to a cotton wool pad & gently wiping across the eye lids, or as I prefer to use it as a full face pre cleanse. Simply apply directly with dry hands to your skin & gently massage all over your face before adding water & continuing to massage prior to rinsing off with warm water.
I've then been continuing to cleanse my face with the second product I received, their conditioning cleanser. Designed to remove impurities, gently exfoliate & boost elasticity this product a gel/cream cleanser that should be applied to damp skin, massaged into your face & then removed by either rinsing with warm water or the use of a warm cloth.
Like I say I've been using these products for a few weeks now & I'm impressed with both. The Pre Cleanse & Make-Up Remover effectively removes all traces of my make up, even when wearing a heavy smokey eye & when used with the Conditioning Cleanser I've found my skin has been left feeling deeply cleansed & smooth.
I've long been a fan of Hyraulonic Acid for hydrating & plumping out my skin, so it probably won't come as any surprise that I was instantly hooked on their Hydrating Beauty Mist. I've simply been spraying this directly onto my skin after cleansing & prior to applying my moisturiser but it can also been used to refresh make up & I personally think this will be one of those products that particularly comes into its own in the hot summer months for refreshing my face during the day.
Following the application of the Hydrating Beauty Mist, I've then been applying their Replenishing Moisturiser, which I've been using both of a morning & evening.
Now I must admit I'm always a little nervous about trying new moisturisers as I hate heavy products that feel too rich & worry that they will lead my hormonal skin to breakouts. However, this product is anything but heavy & contains Co-enzyme Q10 & collagen boosting vitamin A & despite the fact I initially pumped too much out of the bottle I was amazed at how quickly it absorbed into my skin & instantly left it feeling smoother & looking plumper.
The final product I received was part of their 'skinperfector' range & is their Hydration Injection Masque. This once/twice a week treatment is designed to restore vibrancy & is the perfect 'pick me up' for tired, stressed skin that's lacking in radiance - so you could say it had my name written on it! Perfect for perking up your natural radiance & also ideal for using prior to a big night out.
As I mentioned at the start of this post it's been a few weeks since I started using ARK Skincare & I'm really impressed. I love the fact it's easy to find the products that are targeted for your age range & skin concerns & I've definitely noticed & felt a benefit to my skin. So much so I'd happily invest my own money & am keen to try more of their products. In particular their Advanced Action Plumping Lip Cream, their Age Defend Regenerating Night Treatment & their Radiance Serum. Not to mention their Reverse Gravity Eye Cream once my existing products run out.
Back to today & it's a simple all blue outfit for another busy day of doing - market day, work, French lesson, oh & trying to grab sometime to carry on working on the house. It's no wonder my skin was in desperate need of some TLC!
