Morning ladies. Today I want to shine the spotlight on Great Plains, a London based brand that creates high quality, stylish pieces that not only will stand the test of time but will also bring some stylish glamour to your everyday wardrobe.
So let's jump straight in with the first of my picks, this cosy soft pink cardigan that's perfect for layering & is just gorgeous when paired with soft blue denim.
As you probably know by now I love everyday staples that have that extra detailing to make them stand out as something a bit more special. So this Pointelle t-shirt ticks all those boxes. A great wardrobe addition that is perfect for dressing up or down but equally is so much more than a simple tee.
I don't think there's many of us that can resist the calling of a pretty white shirt come Spring/Summer as it's such a timeless versatile staple. Perfect for pairing with cigarette pants for the office as much as it is with jeans & trainers of a weekend.
Come the warmer months a tiered maxi dress, soon earns it's keep & the above cotton beauty had me with it's vibrant shade of cornflower blue that just screams blue skies & sunny days. Dress up with wedged espadrilles & a sun hat for holidays or pair with trainers & a denim jacket for everyday.
Whilst we might all long for days filled with sunshine we all know that there's always going to be those cooler spells so an off white knit that can be worn with most of our wardrobe is a great addition. I really like the look of this 'V' neck jumper with it's ribbed neckline detailing & love the idea of sizing up in this for a more casual feel & teaming this with some denim boyfriend shorts or straight legged jeans.
Last year I realised that not only are shorts a great way for keeping cool but they make an easy transition from jeans when the temperatures rise. I just love a smart, tailored style that can be teamed with all those tops you'd normally wear with your jeans. So these blue & white shorts tick all my boxes for effortless summer style. Pair with anything from a simple camisole, to an oversized knit, like the one above, to a pretty white top or even an oversized shirt. The list really is endless.
Sticking with stripes with this modern twist of a classic knit. Pair with anything from cropped cigarette pants, jeans or even a white or navy flowing maxi skirt.
Dresses are always a great idea as they just make getting dressed of a morning so easy & the above midi dress looks so pretty teamed with a pair of simple heels but equally offers versatility as it would also look just as good worn with a pair of white trainers & denim jacket.
Along with frills & ruffles, I also have a weakness for a spot of pretty subtle embroidery & just love the shape of the above top that offers a whole host of styling options. From dressing with a maxi skirt or cigarette pants for work to teaming with denim cut offs or jeans for everyday.
Finally no Spring wardrobe is complete without a pair of straight legged jeans & the above cropped pair with their hem detailing are perfect for dressing up or down.
I've been lucky enough to have been able to choose a few pieces from Great Plains to showcase & style. So what did I choose? Well firstly their Pointelle Stripe T-Shirt, which I just knew I was going to love but it actually exceeded my expectations.
From the pictures online I instantly fell for the cutout detailing but I hadn't realised just how pretty the sleeve detailing was. I had also debated whether to size up in the t-shirt as I didn't want anything too fitted but my normal size (UK8) is perfect & whilst the t-shirt isn't oversized it isn't fitted either, more a straight fit design making it ideal for dressing up or down. I just know I'm going to get lots of use from this top & will wear it with everything from cigarette pants, jeans (as shown below), to maxi skirts as well as tailored shorts.
As you can see in the picture above I also choose their straight leg jeans, which do come up a little on the large size, so if you're in-between sizes it might be worth going down a size. As I mentioned earlier this style of jean is perfect for dressing up or down & with the addition of ankle boots come the cooler months can even be worn all year round.
It probably won't come as any surprise to know that I couldn't resist their Helleos Dobby Shirt, which is true to size & made from 100% cotton & is the perfect weight - not too light or thick to enable it to fall perfectly.
I just love it teamed with their Cotton Micro Pinstripe Shorts, which are again true to size.
I have a feeling that if this summer is anything like last year's here in France I'm going to be living in these & plan on teaming all the navy & white/off white tops hanging in my wardrobe with these to create a whole host of looks.
Finally how could I not pick the stunning blue tiered maxi dress. I've styled I above on it's own without the separate cotton tie belt but I also plan on teaming it with this belt as well as simple wider neutral jute belt to change the look up.
