Taking a New Look at New Look

It's official, summer is on it's way & with it comes the 'need' for new summer additions to my wardrobe, cause if you're anything like me you'll take one look at your spring/summer clothes & decide you simply have nothing to wear!!!

So with my 'need' for new summer clothes the hunt for the perfect spring/summer wardrobe is on, starting with dresses!

You may recall in a recent post how I made a new discovery in New Look after venturing in store for 'research' purposes (she says whilst crossing her fingers!).

Well as a result of my expedition & the hoard of goodies that somehow found their way into my shopping basket & then my wardrobe, I decided to take a further & more detailed look online.  Seeing as we seem to be having a good run of blue sky (said very quietly for fear of unsettling Weather Fairy - who knew we can have glorious weather on a Bank Holiday!) & my recent blog on maxi dresses it started me thinking that I am somewhat lacking in summer dresses. So with my recent maxi dress purchase in mind, I headed over to New Look's dress department to check out their offerings & to gather some inspiration.

Now the beauty of this season is that providing we have a decent summer (well it's about time!) you can really experiment with all the different styles around & for some reason I find that with a summer dress providing you invest in a decent underskirt (to avoid those Princess Diana moments!) you don't need to pay a fortune.

So seeing as I've invested in a denim jacket this spring, one look I really love & hope to copy is the short pretty floral dress teamed with a denim jacket & sandals/pumps & these first couple of dresses really caught my eye for possibles for this look.

I'm also a real sucker for a pretty cream/white dress teamed with silver pumps & worn with a denim jacket & I totally love the look of these next two dresses.  I think they'd look really fresh with sun kissed skin (she says whilst slapping on the fake tan!).

But if a short dress isn't your thing how about this midi length cream one which again would look stunning teamed with denim & either some gold or silver accessories.

Following on from my previous post on maxi skirts & my new found love of tie dye these next two midi dresses also caught my eye.  I've not tried a fitted midi dress on but think these could look great providing I was vacuum packed into the right support underwear to suck me in, in all the right places.

And of course this cute leopard print dress caught my eye.  A great casual number & I love the fact it's in grey as opposed to the standard brown/black print.  I think this would look stunning worn with some pretty sandals & perhaps teamed with a studded belt.

For a more classic look I also love this gorgeous striped dress, a little longer in length that would look stunning teamed with some red accessories.

And finally finishing with the dress I recently brought which has already been featured in my blog but I love it so much thought it deserved a second mention.

In fact the only problem is there's just too much choice to choose from!  Which leads me to my next dilemma in the dress department....which ones should I buy?!!!!

And finishing with my outfits from the last few days.

So what are your views on New Look?  Are you going to be rocking a dress this summer & if so what style do you prefer?  Do any of these dresses tempt you to hit the 'buy me' button & if so which ones?  I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Have a great bank holiday weekend & here's to the glorious sunshine x

  2. I can't believe how nice the New Look dresses are, I like the white lace ones and the black and white stripe, but I have a real environment thing about buying fast fashion new. I don't mind from ebay as it is recycling, I have to get over it though as it is probably why (or at least one of the reasons why) I always look so badly put together!!

  4. I don't usually buy anything from New Look, I like the cream lace dress and the tie dye midi although that may be a bit clingy for me!
