The Perfect Getting Away From It All Outfit

Well I think it might just about be safe to say that summer's here at last!  Or perhaps more realistically that we can at least wear some of our summer wardrobe over the next few days.  Because according to my weather app (which is of course always accurate!!) the sun is here to stay (well for the next few days) hurrah :)

So with beautiful blue skies & sunny days ahead not to mention the sound of birds singing as opposed to the pitter patter of rain or thud of hailstones it's got me thinking more about the holidays.

Now as you will know by now I'm a little bit obsessed with jackets, my justification being that you can dress them up or down & generally wear them all year round - with the right amount of layers and a warm scarf (another obsession) & gloves for the winter or dare I say it even spring!  So when I saw this picture of Kristin Cavallari I instantly thought it was the perfect travelling look to steal!

Now not being someone who is 'down with the kids', I have to admit to having to Google who Kristin Cavallari was & according to Wikipedia she's a TV personality, designer & actress who's appeared in Laguna Beach & The Hills.  Which if I'm being totally honest I'm still none the wiser but am totally loving her style.

The beauty of this outfit is that most of us have at least some, if not the majority of these items in our wardrobe.  On top of this it's just a great staple of clothes to take away with you on holiday.  And if travelling light (something I always aspire to, but seldom achieve) you can just take a few other basics & some great accessories to have a fab capsule wardrobe.

So starting with the jacket (& hoping my willpower is strong!) here's my selection of similar styled ones currently available on the high street.

Starting with these gorgeous two blazers available from one of my favourite stores Massimo Dutti.  Now if you've never shopped here before you really should take a peak.  It's owned by the same group as Zara & whilst more expensive the quality & fit is amazing & they really are timeless classic pieces.  I think I've mentioned before that I have several items in my wardrobe from here that look as good as new despite being several years old.

I love this denim version of a modern classic blazer & think it would look stunning with white jeans and t-shirt.

Massimo Dutti Denim Jacket £125

Then this structured blazer is simply gorgeous.  I love the darker pipping around the edges and the wooden buttons which just add that something else to this jacket.

Massimo Dutti Structured Blue Blazer £145

If you're looking for something a little lighter in shade what about this jacket from Topshop?  Again it would look stunning teamed with white clothing & tan accessories.

Coming down in price I also love this one from Zara, who really do make great jackets for the price.  This jacket has a stunning texture to it & is taking all my will power to resist!

Or how about this great priced one from New Look?

Or for something a little different in style to the classic blazer how about this one from Zara?

Then turning to the white t-shirt, you're absolutely spoilt for choice on the high street & style wise could wear either a simple vest top, short or long sleeved one or even a draped effect one like the ones I featured in my last blog.  I really like the simplicity of the outfit worn by Kristin & when looking online these two from ASOS caught my eye as great ones if copying the style.

And I absolutely love the gorgeous neckline on this vest top.

Moving onto the white trousers, again the high street is inundated with white trousers & jeans at the moment.  I love the skinny cropped fit that Kristin is wearing but you could always substitute them for a boyfriend style or even a more classic loose leg linen pair.  If you're sticking with the skinny then how about these from ASOS?

Or for a classic ankle skimming skinny jean what about these ones from Boden?

Now for the shoes, again it's all about preference as this outfit would look great teamed with flats, wedges or heels but sticking with the theme I have found two great pairs of strappy sandals from Wallis.  Which as an added plus having straps should be easier for keeping on your feet, if like me you suffer with this problem & would avoid having to dig out the old toupee tape.

Turning to the bag obvious the old Hermes Birkin bag can be brought but if like me you can't/don't want to spend that much how about these alternatives.

The first one from Zara I've featured on my blog before & in fact have purchased.  It's a great size & style & I love the zip edging around the outside.

Or for another classic, what about this one from Massimo Dutti?

And finishing with the sunnies - again lots to choose from but how about these ones from good old M&S?

As always I would love to hear your thoughts & don't forget if there's something you'd like me to cover in a blog just let me know.

Enjoy the sunshine x
