Sales Haul

Okay so the time has come to fess up to what I've actually brought in the sales & I have to say I was slightly concerned when starting this post that I'd list everything & get a nasty shock but surprisingly I think I really can say that I've been a very good girl & give the old halo a true polish!!!

Of course part of my being 'good' may be due to the fact that I had some amazing new clothes, boots & costume jewellery for Christmas not to mention the fantastic haul for my birthday at the beginning of December but still for me I HAVE been good & for that the hubby is rejoicing!!!

So here's my first purchase, which I did feature in one of my recent posts (click here).  A total & classic wardrobe essential which I know is not only going to get a lot of use but also be with me for many a year to come.  A truly gorgeous tan leather clutch that is the perfect size for putting all the essentials in & the fact that it comes with a wrist strap just makes it 100% perfect.  The only bummer is they also did this bag in black, another classic edition for any wardrobe but even shopping the sales at just turned midnight on Boxing Day morning (yes I'm that saddo!!!) & I still couldn't snag one!!!

Of course my sales haul wouldn't be a true haul if I hadn't hit Zara but EXTREMELY surprising for me is that I only purchased one thing (& yes hubby did take my temperature as I returned the four (yes four, no typo I promise!!!) boxes of sales purchases!!).  So what did I purchase?  Well this khaki thick cotton overshirt, which I totally love, worn either as a shirt or layered with a t-shirt underneath as an, yup you've guessed it overshirt!!!  I've been looking for a khaki shirt for about twelve months & each one I tried on just wasn't right - the wrong colour, fabric, style etc but as Goldilocks once said this one was 'just right' & I love the patches.  Which reminds me of years ago when at school I cut the labels off the insides of my clothing & sewed them onto my jeans.....anyone else do this or was it just me

By now you will know that the one gapping hole I have in my wardrobe is for a blazer.....NOT!!! But when I spied this stunning stripped blazer in GAP with 50% off in my favourite shade of red.....well let's just say the button was clicked in a nanosecond!!!

Of course a sales haul for me wouldn't be a success without a bit of Bet popping in & since my old Dune leopard print ballet shoes have finally given up the ghost I was delighted when I spotted these gorgeous ballet pumps from Mint Velvet in the sale - I just couldn't resist.  The only thing is as I've only recently ordered them they haven't yet arrived & I would usually go for either a size 6 or 7 depending on fit & width but they only had a size 6 left so I've taken a chance & keeping everything crossed in the meantime.  As when I do finally get to tear open the packaging you can bet I'll be hoping for a Cinderella moment & not an ugly sister one!!!

Finally one last sales purchase to report & that is another bag....it's a bag that I've featured on my blog a couple of times before but didn't want to pay full price for but as soon as I saw that it had been reduced to just over £23 as opposed to the full price of a few pennies below £60 well I couldn't resist.  The fact that it's a clutch, has a wrist strap & can also be a cross body bag means that I'm sure to get my use out of it & it's such a gorgeous shade of pink that it's going to be perfect for adding a pop of colour to my outfits.

So before my halo slips & becomes tarnished here's a quick round up of what I've been wearing since my last post.

Enjoy the rest of the working week....only two days to go until the weekend whoop whoop :-)  Don't forget I'd love to hear your thoughts on my sales stash & hear about what is your favourite sales purchase.  Hopefully you've been able to make a few sales steal like my Boden bag.

See you in a few days where I'll be trying something new!

  3. Gosh! Very restrained, Jane, but such lovely finds! I love the tan clutch. I already have the Boden clutch in leopard print which I bought preview with I think 20 or 25% off and I love it! And because you were so good, of course it means you have more to spend in new season stock ;-) Lynne x

  5. Great buys. I was all over the place this year so very envious that you have bagged such timeless classics. I bought the Boden clutch before Xmas in blue (that went back as I didn't like the contrasting zip) and yellow which I love. Should probably have considered pink also. Really love the Gap blazer.

You beat me to the M.D. sale. I couldn't get on line and hubby kept telling me to turn the laptop off as he couldn't sleep. Oh the woes of sales shopping x

  6. Some fab pieces Jane & you have been very restrained, lol ('tho it does seem that the Sales this year have been going on for ever...so many started way before Christmas!). Especially love the MV pumps & of course the Boden bag, (I'm still stalking the 'Bet' version too but it needs to come down more in price first!!). Love the Zara shirt too. x
