"Timeless everyday style"

High Street Fit Finder & WIWT

If you're anything like me, you'll find shopping online a bit of a nightmare.  Yup that's right now we all know I love a bit of button clicking action but I for one can be unsure of which size to order as depending on brand/style sizes can vary considerably.  Being one to cover all angles this generally results in an array of sizes being ordered - the size I think I am plus the size above & below just in case it comes up large/small, which in turn results in three times the amount of boxes being delivered by Clive my lovely DPD driver & my spending habits looking 3 times as bad!!!

Why brands can't just get together & decide on a set sizing for clothing I don't know! It would be so much more efficient, not to mention save huge amounts of their stock being tied up in parcels sent to customers, who like me like to take no chances & the wasted money on returns postage that they pay on free returns.

Whilst this quandary of sizes doesn't put me off shopping online I'm sure there are some people it does, after all having to re-package & send items back via the post office can become quite time consuming......believe me I should know ;-)

However, all that hassle is about to be changed thanks to High Street Fit Finder.

If you haven't heard of it High Street Fit Finder is a relatively new website that aims to save you time & money in ordering the wrong sizes by telling you what size you need to order on most high street brands - genius!

So how does it work?  Well its "simples" basically all you need is a tape measure & about 10 minutes of your time.  Although if you don't have a tape measure don't panic, you can actually print one off from their website!

In a nutshell you will need just four measurements - your bust, waist, hips & leg length to get up & running & if you're anything like me & never exactly sure where to measure it guides you as where they are - they really have thought of everything.

Once armed with your vital statistics all you need do then is select if you're male or female, select what type of item & style you're looking for, together with desired colour & your preferred price bracket & away you go.

It really couldn't be simpler & could seriously cut down on the stress of online shopping :-)

Plus the site aims to promote & support two important causes - eating disorders & those charities that help people overcome serious body confidence issues - both conditions that are rapidly on the increase.

So what do I think?  Well I think it's a great idea that has the potential to transform online shopping.  However, the site is still in its infancy stage & at the moment only has the data to shop online for jeans.  Although don't panic as they're already working on adding all items of clothing but as with everything it just takes time.  In the meantime if you're on the look out for a new pair of jeans why not give High Street Fit Finder a try, after all it just may save you quite a bit of leg work in finding your ideal pair.

Finally here's my outfit for today.

Jacket - Zara
Top - Tesco
Bag - Gap
Jeans - Zara
Shoes - bought in Majorca

Hot Pink & Leopard Print

Jacket - Zara £59.99
Top - Topshop £38
Bag - Boden £79
Jeans - Mango £44.99
Shoes - Next £22

So what do you think?  Are you intrigued by the concept of being able to input your measurements to  find out what size you are for a particular brand instead of the guesswork that currently goes with online ordering?  Would you be willing to give it a try & like the idea in principle?  I'd love to hear what you think.

Have a fab day.

  1. I don't usually have a sizing problem although can see how useful this website would be. My only gripe was the M&S leopard coat which fitted me in a size 8 although the arms were very tight lol and I finally decided that two sizes down from my normal was the best fit so if I had ordered that online I would of had the right hump! x

    1. Now you see Sharron I'd go into major panic mode if this happened online just in case they ran out of the size I needed. How many times have I placed orders with Marks & Spencer in particular, to have then have an email several days later advising me the items out of stock hence the multi size buying from now on ;-)

This website sounds just he thing I am looking for. I have tried to put my measurements in but can't seem to find anywhere to put them. It seems so easy to use, did you have any trouble using the site?

    Kind regards

    1. Thanks Lynne, I think it's a great idea that as it grows will become a really useful tool to use when ordering from brands that you've not tried before.
I still don't know why there isn't a more universal sizing system in place it be so much easier from both a consumer & retailers point of view!
