So I was recently lucky enough to be contacted by Seven Boot Lane to see if I'd like to style & review a pair of their ankle boots. Now I've been aware of this brand for approximately 12 months & from the moment I stumbled upon their website I've had my eye on a few pairs of their footwear as they make the most stunning shoes & boots & needless to say you can imagine my joy when their email pinged into my inbox :-)
Just in case you haven't heard of them, Seven Boot Lane is a family run company that was established in 2012 & is based in Somerset. Not only is all their footwear created from natural hand-finished Spanish leather that is designed to last. They also believe in helping to make a positive difference to the communities where they source & sell their footwear & as a result support Mary's Living & Giving for Save the Children by donating their end of season stock and samples to their charity shops as well as Debra Espana, a Spanish charity who works to improve the lives of those suffering from epidermolysis bullosa. It's not often you hear of a company supporting & giving back is it?!
Now onto their shoes & boots. As I mentioned earlier I have truly been lusting after a pair or two for a while so before I show you which boots I decided to style, I thought I'd share with you the ones that made it onto my short list.
First up is the Calista in soft grey & is also available in black leather & charcoal. A great classic ankle boot with a block heel & strap detailing. I think it's safe to say these beauties would never date plus of course they're going to look equally stunning with jeans or dresses alike.
Next up are these gorgeous burgundy Chelsea boots, also available in black leather & walnut suede. A great everyday boot for teaming with jeans/trousers & of course skirts & dresses.
I spent an age looking at this next pair which also come in grey suede, as I was hugely tempted to style these. I just love the strap detailing and shorter length of this biker boot not to mention the slouchy feel they have. I think their slouchiness would make them perfect for teaming with skinnies not to mention dresses & I'd love to see these styled with a pretty little dress & leather biker jacket.
Of course you can't go wrong with a classic biker boot, which totally comes into it's own this time of year.
Not to mention a classic tan riding boot, which instantly transforms a navy classic blazer, white shirt & jeans combo.
But the style I eventually chose were........(drumroll!!!) these stunning Annie western ankle boots as I was totally sold on the hand cut detailing. Of course having finally decided on which style I then had to decide on which colour as this style is available in charcoal leather, khaki suede & the colour way I eventually chose charcoal suede.
Not only do I love the detailing on the boots I also love the aged effect & their gorgeous heel (30mm high) & sole. Plus the added bonus that the fact the boots are hand finished in a soft waxed water repellent suede, which will mean I won't have to be too precious about wearing them whatever the weather & most importably have a man made sole which means none of that sliding/falling over I find myself doing when it's wet & wearing leather soled footwear.
Naturally I had to have a bit of a trying on session......
And here's how I styled them.....
Gilet - Mint Velvet
Hat - H&M, similar here
Necklace - Stella & Dot
Shirt - Zara
Leather Effect Leggings - Zara, similar here
Boots - Seven Boot Lane £175
I just LOVE them teamed with my Mint Velvet gilet. They're the perfect colour match & are ideal teamed with skinny fitting trousers/leggings....in fact I love the boots so much teamed with this outfit that this is making it onto my shortlist of outfits to consider wearing when I go to London with the girls.
I adore the boots so much that not only have I teamed them with today's outfit the dog is so worried that they'll steal his thunder that it took many attempts to get them in my picture as, as you will see from the below pictures no matter how many times we moved him, he kept coming back centre stage!!! Well they do say never to work with animals ;-)
Scarf - Zara
Dress - Zara
Biker Jacket - Zara
Boots - Seven Boot Lane £175
Scarf - Zara £19.99
Dress - Zara £39.99
Jacket - Zara £159
Boots - Seven Boot Lane £175
So what do I think of my new boots from Seven Boot Lane?! I'm delighted with them as they are as luxurious & beautifully made as the pictures on their website indicate. Not only that but they are extremely comfy from the outset, no breaking in needed which is always a relief to my feet!
As for sizing I'd say they were pretty true to size & if anything come up very slightly larger, which lets face it is only a good thing as unless you're wearing a dress/skirt you generally want to be able to team your boots with socks this time of year & of course they do require a little bit of extra room.
I love the heel height of the boots too, a great little heel that isn't too high but helps elongate the legs & more importably makes them that little bit more comfortable than completely flat shoes when you're going to be on your feet all day. Plus as you'll see from the above photos they're perfect teamed with both trousers & or dresses/skirts.
So what do you think?! Do you likey as much as I do?! I'd love to hear if you've heard of Seven Boot Lane, or if you've already got a pair or two sat in your wardrobe?! As always I love hearing your thoughts, not to mention would love to know which of their styles have caught your eye.
Plus you'll be delighted to know that the lovely people at Seven Boot Lane have very kindly provided me with a discount code to share with you - simply quote 'MMF10' for 10% off any of their boots or shoes (code expires 30th of November 2014)....perfect timing for giving Santa a helping hand don't you think ;-)
Happy shopping & see you tomorrow.

Those boots are gorgeous, are the biker ones with the strap navy?? If so they are going on my Christmas list!! Love the styling, you always look so well put together Jane. X
ReplyDeleteAww thanks Trea, I'd describe the boots as a slate grey. I can't wait to team them with navy as I think it will bring out the blue undertone in the boots!

What fab boots, the detailing on them makes them a little bit different & I love the colour! The Calista & Charlotte boots are my faves. We have a Seven Boot Lane shop here in Bath & they always have such lovely things. You've styled them perfectly with your outfuts! x
ReplyDeleteThanks Sian. It was such a close call for me on the Charlotte & the Annie boots but in the end I choose the Annie as like you say the detailing really does make them stand out.
