As regular readers will know once a month I team up with some lovely fab 40 bloggers to interpret a theme. This month is was Dawn's turn to choose & she picked Gothic inspired as our style for October, something which I was a little uncertain as to how I could interpret to match my personal style but a great theme considering tomorrow's Halloween!
However, after a little thinking I decided to put my own spin on it & go for a grown up gothic feel.

So what do you think? Anyone feeling a little nostalgic & remembering their gothic days gone by? Perhaps you're still a lover of all black looks & mainly have black clothing or have you now moved over to navy? As always I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Happy Friday ladies, we're off to see the new Bond film tonight....fingers crossed I don't fall asleep as even with Daniel Craig filling the screen I have been known to drop off ;-0

Love this outfit Jane, I'm going to try and recreate this one I think. Is the skirt navy? It looks really good with the black top and accessories, breaks the black up a little.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam, the skirt is actually black too but because it's different material it's obviously looking a different shade/colour. Plus I think the different fabrics help break up & soften the look.
DeleteHave a great weekend.

great outfit...I have to go to a dinner on Tuesday and its businessy but eveningy ...if you see what I mean. Just ordered the whole outfit express from zara...wish me luck. I hope the skirt is as long on me...on the model it looks much shorter and I wouldn't have bought it from the zara pics. the shoes were sold out but I found similar.
ReplyDeleteThanks x
Hi & thank you! Really hope you love the outfit when it all arrives, you'll have to let me know how you get on. If it helps in the meantime with the length of the skirt I'm 5'7".
DeleteHope you have a great time on Tuesday.

Jane, outfit was an excellent choice, well done! You were spot on when you said that the different textures lightened the all black look. I'm not usually a skirt person but the flippy A-line was very flattering, and the blouse I will wear again and again. Shoes were gone in my size but found similar... http://www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/shoes/flats/flat-shoes-with-ankle-strap-c269196p2775533.html
DeleteWhat would we do without Zara?? Loving your hush fire parka in your recent post..I have parka envy :)
Thanks Jane!
Oh I'm so pleased you were happy with the outfit. Those shoes are perfect & again another useful addition. I think it's safe to say I'd be a lost with a better bank balance without Zara lol!!
