New OOTD - Styling A Military Shirt

So the beginning of a new week & as usual Monday is a bit of a manic day for me in the office.

However, before I get onto what I'm wearing, I wanted to share a sneaky purchase I made at the weekend.  Nothing exciting but something that I wear most days & are extremely practical - yup I'm talking the glamour of vests!!!

In the past I've really struggled to find a thin layer that not only helps keep me warm but is low enough at the front not to show when wearing a low necked top & that also (& most importantly) is long enough to tuck into low rise jeans & trousers - as I said not glamourous but a essential no?!!

Well all my vest dreams have been answered by these beauties from good old Marks & Spencers.  A lovely soft t-shirt material, that is practical & pretty with the lace edging & more importantly is the perfect length for keeping tucked in (oh how my back is loving them!) as well as being low enough that they don't show when wearing a unbuttoned or low neck top.

Marks and Spencer Soft Touch Cotton Rich Lace Trim Vest

I have to say these are the best ones I've found so far & I'm loving them so much I've taken advantage of the multi purchase offer of 2 for £8 as they come in 7 different colours - although I don't think you can go wrong with black, white & almond for covering all bases.

Anyway back to today & I'm keeping things nice & simple & styling my new Mango shirt.  As soon as I say this beauty I just knew I had to give it a try as it's a great alternative to a denim shirt & I love the nod to the military trend with the sewn on decorative patches.  It's a lovely dark navy & made from the softest fabric.

For it's first outing I just teaming it with some soft grey.

  1. I definitely need some of those vests, I'm always cold and hate a draft going up my back. Love the shirt too, even though I'm not really a shirt person myself (don't like things with collars generally).

    1. The vests are fab Sam & definitely no drafts with these. In the past the ones I've always bought have never tucked in so didn't really do the job I needed but these are perfect :-)

  2. I have just ordered the Mango shirt - it looks so much better on you than their web page! Does it come up big as the largest size was 12?
