Outfits For A Special Occasion & WIWT Keeping It Simples With Monochrome

Morning ladies it's that time of year when invites for special occasions can start arriving & this year I've got two occasions this summer where I need a special outfit.  Not only have I got my nephew's christening to look forward to, I'm also out with the girls for our second year celebrating Ladies Day for Royal Ascot.  Last year we were lucky enough to have an event in the village that required us to dress up in our finery but meant we could stumble home.  This year unfortunately the event isn't being held (we're hoping it's not down to the amount of prosecco we drank!!) so it's meant we're going slightly further afield to a hotel & spa that are holding a similar event & requires us to dress up.

So ideally I'm looking for one outfit that I can wear to both occasions that will cover all weather eventualities & is also clothing that can be reused for future occasions to.

I'm sure some of you will also be looking at outfits for a similar occasion so I thought I'd feature some of my top picks & show you how I'd style them in the hope it gives you & me some inspiration of what we want to wear.

After lots of trawling through the internet I've come up with 13 different looks, some that can easily be dressed up or down, some that can be layered with a jacket if the weather isn't great & some that are less dressy than others for more casual occasions.  Plus I've selected some trouser options too for those who prefer trousers over a skirt/dress as well as separates to allow you more flexibility.

So let's get cracking with my looks.

Hopefully if you're on the lookout for something for a special occasion this season there's something above to tempt you or perhaps even see how an existing piece in your wardrobe could be incorporated into a special look.  I'm still unsure what I'm going to be wearing but may have ordered several of the pieces above to give them a try.  My first event is on the 16th of June so I need to get planning.

Back to today & I'm keeping things nice & simple with monochrome & a breton.
