Morning ladies today I thought it would be fun to show you a few pieces with my style suggestions for the coming season. As well as to see if you had any ideas where the longline waistcoat, maxi dress, wrap coat, stripe jumper, frayed edge cardigan & lace pleated skirt were from?
I'm guessing for most it will come as a surprise to discover they are all from a brand we probably most remember in our early teens for taffeta. Yup you've guessed it I'm talking Laura Ashley & I surely can't be the only one to have owned the odd taffeta & velvet ball dress from there as we were growing up?!!
Now you may recall that I recently featured a stunning lace blouse here, which is also part of their AW16 collection & whilst having a peek at their website I noticed quite a few pieces that were seriously catching my eye.
As you can see from my style suggestions all the pieces I've featured are great wardrobe staples upon which to build a capsule wardrobe. Plus you just know being from Laura Ashley, will have the quality we have all come to expect from the brand.
Regular followers will know I have a huge love of neutral colours in my wardrobe so the soft greys & blacks teamed with a splash of burgundy would fit perfectly & no doubt slip in to many of our wardrobes. Who doesn't love a simple maxi dress to team with a biker jacket & ankle boots & I know I'm not going to have to explain to you why I've featured another stripe top, we can never own enough right?! Plus the frayed knitted jacket/cardigan is just stunning.
I've been lucky enough to have been sent the wrap coat I've featured above to style & I have to say it's a beaut. A great casual softly draped coat that can be dressed up or down & if like me you fell in love with the coatigan last winter then this is a great wardrobe update.
As you can see from the pictures the coat is a stunning shade of light grey that I've just had to team with pastels & denim for its first outing. Plus it matches my Village England bag perfectly & yes I'm one of those people who does a small whoop over these things (it's the little things in life right?!!).

In terms of styling it's one of those coats that you can just throw on & wear & you don't have to think about. Although I have turned the sleeve back a little to give a little more detailing to the coat & as with all belted coats I personally prefer to wear the coat undone with the belt pulled slightly in at the back to add definition & tailoring.
It really is a great coat in terms of style & quality that is timeless that will look just as lovely teamed with a LBD or distressed boyfriend jeans & trainers. I'm certainly looking forward to all the ways I'm going to be styling it over the coming months & would highly recommend if you're on the lookout for a new versatile coat this season.

As always I'd love to hear what's on your wish list or perhaps even hanging up in your wardrobe. Or perhaps it's a brand that's fallen off your radar. If so I'd certainly recommend you take a peek.
Enjoy your Sunday ladies & I'll see you in the morning.
