On to a few sneaky purchases now & firstly a new pleated maxi skirt, which is stunning on & will be perfect for layering up with a polo neck & biker jacket as much as it will teamed with a blazer & cami.

ASOS Pleated Skirt in Satin with Camo Print

Then onto something I wear all year round - lace camisoles.  Perfect for warmer times layered with delicate chains or paired with a tuxedo jacket for Christmas parties not to mention worn under deeep 'V' neck jumpers so the lace can be seen.  I just love the deep lace of this black one (which I'm not planning on wearing over the jumper!), so much so I brought the dusty pink version too, which looks less peach & more pinky in real life.

If you're tempted to get clicking I'd advise going down a size as these come up rather large.

Zara Camisole Top

And also these grey military trousers, that are made from the softest fabric & are the same as a khaki version I think I brought last winter.  Wear with a biker jacket or for a more tailored look a longline blazer.  A great pair of trousers for dressing up or down & layering with knitwear.

Zara military cargo trousers

I've also ordered this skirt but it's not yet arrived so not sure if it's a keeper.

Warehouse metallic plisse midi skirt

And finally I'm trying to tell myself I don't need this blazer but with 30% off with code VIP16 I fear I'm not going to be able to resist :-0

Mango Double Breasted Blazer

Back to today & I'm layering up with an oversized stripe shirt, loose fit deep 'V' neck jumper & my pleather 'A' line skirt.

  1. Looking super in that outfit, Jane, and thanks for the great ideas. And thanks for making that cute canine photo-bomb a regular feature!

    1. Lol Mary he's always in the room for me but generally out of shot. But this last couple of times he's gone for extra comfort & padding by lying on the sofa :-)
      Hope you're well.

  2. That is the blazer I bought during my great wardrobe revamp. You do need it. It feels and looks more expensive than it is and the cut is extremely flattering. Go for it. You and I seem to have caught some sort of pleated midi skirt virus. After stealing your red snakeskin skirt I have bought two more and that metallic skirt is calling me -loudly. Have a good day.

    1. Susan I'm so going to have to blame you for the blazer purchase you've totally sold me on it now & I just love the style & cut ;-)
Yes we've definitely got the midi skirt virus. I don't know about you but I love swishing around in them :-) Still waiting for the metallic one to arrive but the camo one is absolutely stunning. I'm looking forward to dressing it up & down.
      Have a fab day too.

    2. Quick question. Have you knotted your necklace? Mine came today and to wear it with a blouse I had to knot it or it is between my boobs! Not a problem over jumpers but a decidedly tricky problem when wearing a blouse.

    3. Hi Susan no I've not altered my necklace but I have got it on the shortest length. If you need it shorter it might be worth asking if they could shorten the chain length for you?
      Hope this helps.

  3. Hi, love the pleated skirt, how many do you have now must be lots?. I only have one black maxi from h&m, i must get a printed one, i do like maxi style as knee length make me feel frumpy as do a lines styles i think its because i am only 5ft 3inches tall xx

    1. Hi Linda
Yes I've definitely caught the pleated midi skirt bug but I'm justifying them on the basis that come the warmer months they'll be perfect for teaming with a simple cami ;-) Plus they make a lovely alternative to jeans. I'd definitely recommend a printed version if like me you don't tend to wear a lot of patterns.
      Have a lovely weekend.
