Investment Pieces, Hush 50% Off Sale + WIWT - All Black

Morning ladies today I thought I'd share with you some wish list pieces together with items I've been lucky enough to receive for my birthday or Christmas.  As well as a couple of items I may have 'clicked that button on' with birthday/Christmas money in the sales.

As much as I love the high street (& that's certainly never going to change) I've noticed I'm also getting to that age where I'm also appreciating the odd investment buy.  Something I know will be hanging in my wardrobe for life (diet permitting!!).  That's not going to date, is timeless & will give me as much enjoyment hanging in my wardrobe as it will wearing it.  Of course you also have to be careful that you don't save such purchases for best & are happy to wear them no matter what the occasion.  Plus whilst we're on the lines of cost per wear it most certainly has to be something that's not out of your comfort zone in terms of style & of course not an 'on trend' piece as these will come & go but instead something that will slip into your existing wardrobe & make some high street steals look that little bit more special.

Most of the items I've featured are in the sales so sizing may be limited & of course a couple of items have sold out so I've selected pieces as close to the original items as possible.  As is always the case you can get further details by clicking on the image.

Plus don't forget today marks the start of Hush's 50% off sale!  You can see my top picks here & shop the sale by clicking here.

Back to today & I'm going all black & wearing one of my investment pieces, my Bella Freud jumper, which I've teamed with a simple H&M pleated midi skirt & my pixie style leopard print boots.

So ladies what are your thoughts on investment pieces?  Are you finding that like me where budget allows every once in a while you're considering/clicking that button' on brands you never dreamed you would be able to?  And do you think it's an age thing & that we're getting to that stage in life where we know what suits us & our signature style so feel we can justify spending that little bit more?  I have to say with the key investments I've made I'm finding it's making me more ruthless with existing pieces in my wardrobe, which in turn is freeing up space in my wardrobe & more importantly means those pieces are put on eBay & as a result help funding the new addition too ;-)  You can see my logic & how I justify to hubby right?!!! ;-)

Happy first 'hump' day of the year ladies.  We're freewheeling from here on in to the weekend whoop whoop & in celebration I'm off out with the girls tonight to the village club for bingo!  Fingers crossed lady luck is on our side as last time we did really well & all won a few games/raffle prizes :-)

Back as always in the morning & don't forget to grab your bargains at Hush here!

    1. Hi Linda I use an evening moisturiser & eye cream with retinal in & a day moisturiser containing hyaluronic gel. If you want further details all my skincare is listed under the 'beauty' tab at the top of my site.
      Hope this helps.

  2. Some nice pieces...I would choose the J Crew blazer and trews. I'm a great believer in investment dressing for key pieces like black jackets (I have a MaxMara jacket that's probably 10 years old but still looks great) and cashmere. Also swimwear - the cheaper stuff goes baggy before you've finished the holiday.

    1. Hi Gail yes the J Crew blazer is a real timeless classic isn't it & you can't go wrong investing in pieces like that as they really will last a lifetime.
