Stealing Claudia's Style + WIW - Simple Sunday Style

Claudia Winkleman

Morning ladies & happy Sunday.  For this month's style steal I'm taking inspiration from the ever gorgeous Claudia Winkleman.  I think most of us will probably agree to loving Claudia's style.  Plus I just love the fact that she's worn some normal high street clothes on Strictly this season & I don't know about you but she seems the kind of lady you'd love to have as part of your girl gang - up for a laugh, doesn't take herself too seriously & fun to go out for a drink & a girly gossip with.

When I spotted the above picture of Claudia rocking her tuxedo jacket I just knew this would make a great style steal, as it's perfect outfit inspiration for the festive season & I sort of have all the elements to this look including of course my new stunning tuxedo jacket that I wore on Friday (see here).  Which of course seems to be the perfect starting point for recreating this look.

Fenn Wright Manson Darling Jacket

If you don't already own a tuxedo jacket they really are a fab versatile number to have hanging in your wardrobe.  Perfect for evening or dressed down with some distressed jeans, a simple tee, distressed denim & trainers for day & equally look fab if worn with a dress, skirt, trousers or denim.  Like I said very versatile.

Moving onto the dress next & unlike Claudia I don't recommend going for something quite as long as she's wearing.  As stunning as the dress is, I can't see many of us managing to stay upright in that length.  It could just be me but I have visions of me tripping over the hem & making a right show of myself or if by some lucky chance I was able to avoid such an embarrassment the chances of someone else not stepping on it & either trapping you or worse still putting their heel through it are very slim & that's before I would have been on the bubbles ;-)  Trust me I'm the kind of accident prone person who can somehow manage to get the heel of her shoes stuck in the turn up of the opposite trouser leg & fall over spectacular style in Times Square!!

Marks and spencer embellished floral print tiered maxi dress

So taking Claudia's maxi dress as inspiration I think the above number would be a perfect accompaniment to the tuxedo jacket.  Plus you could also get use of this all year round.  Dressed up with a tux & heels for party season, layered under a crew neck jumper & teamed with a biker jacket & trainers for winter then flat sandals for summer.  So perfect for justifying that sneaky extra purchase ;-)

ASOS leather and suede tab front clutch bag

In terms of the clutch I'm loving the simplicity of the one I've picked above.  Timeless classic & will go with anything.

ASOS pinot satin lace up heels

Now we can't see what type of shoe Claudia has teamed with her dress but I'm guessing heels, how stunning are these satin lace up heels - love, love, love!

As I mentioned earlier a tuxedo jacket is also perfect for pairing with slim fitting trousers such as a cropped cigarette pant & taking inspiration again from the gorgeous Claudia I saw this picture below & think this outfit would be ideal for re-creating with the jacket.

So if you imagine the tuxedo jacket I've featured above teamed with this classic pussy bow blouse, that could also be worn undone with a simple pair of boyfriend jeans & ballet pumps for a more daytime look.

Mint velvet black pussy bow blouse

Paired with the matching trousers to the tuxedo jacket, which could also quite easily be dressed down or worn to the office for day.

Fenn Wright Manson Darling Trousers

Styled with these simple & timeless sandals & the clutch I've featured above you've got another great 'go to' look for the festive season courtesy of Claudia.

And other stories suede two strap sandals

As much as I love both of these looks & definitely fancy having a go at re-creating them over the course of the next few weeks, after a busy couple of days, today's look is all about keeping things simple for a quiet day in at home.  I don't know about you but we've woken up to heavy snow & it's still falling :-)  So the ankle boots will be swapped for walking boots at some stage for a long walk before a snooze in front of the fire.

So ladies what are your thoughts?  Do you like Claudia's two looks & if pushed do you have a preference?  How about the tuxedo jacket - are you a fan & have one hanging in your wardrobe that's stood the test of time or perhaps it's an item you keep thinking of investing in but have yet to 'click that button'.  As always I love hearing your thoughts & reading your comments.

Enjoy your Sunday & the snow & as always I'll see you in the morning.
