Morning ladies you might have noticed that Marks & Spencer have just launched a fab homeware event with up to 30% off furniture (see here) & up to 20% off homeware (see here) until the 4th of April. So for this month's post I thought it would be fun to take a look at their homeware, as if you're anything like me you'll love interiors & arranging & re-arranging furniture just as much as me.

Now I currently have a HUGE thing for blue & white china, especially in our kitchen where the dresser is now crammed with antique & flea market finds. In fact my addiction now seems to be spreading across the rest of downstairs as it's the perfect colour to pair against the neutral backdrop of some of our rooms & adds an instant feeling of warmth. I guess blue & white is a colour scheme that always reminds me of holidays & the Mediterranean so it's probably no surprise I have a fondness for it, especially if it can help bring some of those holiday vibes to the home. Once the puppies are fully house trained I've got my eye on this rug, which I'm planning on placing under our dining table & chairs in the kitchen as it would be perfect amongst all the china & ginger jars.
If you take a peek you'll see that Marks & Spencer have some great blue & white pieces to add to my collection, a few of which I've included above. Together with some gorgeous candle holders, some of which I have already purchased, like the small hurricane lamps - which I also own in the larger version too. Absolutely stunning & perfect for sitting on our dining table (the large ones) & our fireplace (the smaller ones). Personally a bit like stripes, I don't think you can ever have enough candles & I particularly love them when grouped together. I have something similar to the above wicker tray in our lounge with an array of candles that looks stunning when lit.
I've also got my eye on the above blue & white serving platters as these would be perfect for adding a little statement to any meal & ideal for adding a splash of colour, if like us you have a white dining set. In fact I've already clicked the button on these Pasta Bowls, which are ideal for serving salads or pasta in. They seem to make even the simplest of dishes look Instagram worthy. Even the hubby who usually rolls his eyes at the thought of any more china entering the house immediately fell in love with them!

After a recent 20% family & friends discount weekend I treated ourselves to the above wine glasses & champagne flutes. Just simple, understated glasses that look as much elegant as they do stunning & it could just be me & simple things pleasing simple minds but I think they make even the cheapest of proseccos taste that little bit more luxurious. I've also got similar pressed tumblers & hi ball glasses to the ones shown above for every day soft drinks as I love that vintage vibe & the prettiness of the cut glass - like I said simple things. Plus we keep a similar glass jug to the one above in the fridge which I keep topped up with chopped fruit, herbs & water for a refreshing start to the day.
Now I don't know about you but it's always around this time of year with the thought of summer & the potential for alfresco meals outside & entertaining that I love looking at different ways of serving & displaying items when friends come round. In fact one such purchase that we've found really useful is a large bucket that we got last year from a flea market, which is very similar to the above drinks trug. Ideal for just throwing all the drink in with some ice allowing everyone to help themselves & it's been used for winter parties too.
I must admit since starting this post my wish list has grown & one of the items currently sat in my online basket are the above cocktail recipe sticks. I love the fact they've got the recipes on the sticks & I'm guessing you just add each ingredients to the marker - so simple it's genius & no hassle of getting the measurements right, in fact they'd make a great Father's Day gift if you fancy being super organised :-) This Rustic Stripe Tablecloth is also sitting in my basket & would be a great purchase for BBQ weather & outdoor dining.

Another colour scheme I love is pink & white & it's actually something after a bit of persuading we now have in our bedroom. Not too much pink for fear of upsetting hubby but just enough to add softness & warmth. Plus perfect for mixing with distressed painted bedroom furniture & silver mercurised candle holders. You might have guessed by now that I love a vintage vibe, which just seems to match our home perfectly so having spotted the above bedlinen this is now keeping my cocktail recipe sticks & tablecloth company in my basket online. I'm also seriously tempted by the above tassel cushions. Another thing I'm sure would result in much eye rolling from hubby but we all know you can never have enough cushions on a bed can you? ;-)
An item I've also embraced over recent years is artificial flowers. Yes I know they're never going to replace the scent of fresh flowers but from a practical point of view they're just brilliant plus they never die & don't need to be watered or fed - so win win! I've mentioned previously that we have the foxtail grass in our bathroom & I've also recently bought the large cheese plant. When it first arrived I wasn't too sure & felt it looked too plasticky but after putting the plant inside a large wicker basket & re-arranging the leaves I must admit it looks pretty convincing & now has a new home.
Talking of home I thought I'd feature my recent purchases, some of which were purchased from Marks & Spencer during the last 20% discount weekend that will give you an insight of my blue & white addiction!

Back to today & my love of blue & white interiors has also spilled over into my outfit as I'm wearing my latest cashmere purchase. I just don't think you can beat a navy & off white stripe top of some form or other especially when teamed with denim & a pop of red.
