Morning ladies. Since the beginning of September is approaching at an alarming rate I think it's time we started looking at Autumn wear.
As much as I love summer & pretty white tops & dresses, I also love the change in seasons. For me the approach of Autumn means it's time to bring all my jackets out of hibernation & personally there's nothing I love more than a jacket combo together with the arrival of new season offerings to ease us into the cooler weather.
So today I want to talk all things Hush, one of my favourite brands who do tailored relaxed chic so well & who have recently dropped their first offerings for AW18. Plus with a handy 10% off discount code (A18PREVIEW) that's valid until the 2nd of September it seems perfect time to share my favourite picks.
As I've already mentioned I love their laid back take on timeless pieces that help bring wardrobe staples up to date. Personally I generally find their sizing to come up on the larger size so as a rule will size down a size but it's worth checking out any online reviews to see what other customers are saying as their Onyx Leather Biker Jacket I have in my normal size & would say the fit was spot on.
I've put together my top picks above & as always simply click on any of the images for all the details. As you can see I've picked a lot of neutrals with splashes of this season's must have print leopard print. Whilst Hush's latest collection includes pieces with pops of colour & some lovely patterned dresses/skirts I've picked out the pieces I feel we will reach for time & time again, season after season.
Pieces like their Onyx Biker Jacket, Leather Leggings & Leather Mini Skirt are great foundations on which to build a capsule wardrobe. Items that won't date & can be dressed up or down with the change of a top/outfit. Last year I stopped buying dresses/skirts above the knee as I felt I was getting to old to wear those items but recently I've actually made a couple of purchases that are above my knee as I figure it's what you wear it with that makes the skirt age appropriate or not & it's either now or never & life is too short to be worried about your hemline! So if you're tempted by a leather mini skirt but think you're too old don't not get it, instead think of pairing with a loose fit top, or flat shoes instead of heels. After all fashion is about wearing what you love & there's always ways you can make it work.
The same goes for leopard print. Yes it's a key trend for the coming season but you don't have to wear it head to toe. Instead if it's something you love but a little out of your comfort zone start by investing in this leopard print belt or perhaps these leopard print ankle boots. You'll be amazed at the difference just a small injection of the print to make to any simple outfit.
Likewise if you've not dipped your toe in the slogan knit trend then perhaps think about purchasing one of the ones I've featured above, such as this one or this one, which is my favourite from their new collection. Then keep the rest of the look simple - cigarette pants & ballet pumps/trainers for a timeless look on the trend.
Back to today & I'm off shopping with a new client, which is always something I look forward to, so comfort is the definitely key today. Plus it's the perfect look to wear my new brooch that I got on holiday :-)
