Beauty Updates + WIW For A Little Adventure!

my midlife fashion, ren skincare, ren skincare atlantic kelp and magnesium anti fatigue body was, ren skincare evercalm overnight recovery balm

Morning ladies, time for some beauty updates on products I've been sent to trial.

Starting with a favourite brand of mine REN Skincare.  Firstly their newly launched Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm, which has been designed to feed your skin with lipis from Olive, Almond, Borage & Linseed oils to intensely nourish & moisturise the skin whilst you sleep.

I don't know about you but when I hear the words 'overnight balm' I initially think the product is going to feel heavy & oily on my skin but this is certainly not the case with REN's recovery balm.  I found it to sink & absorb into my skin quickly & I certainly didn't feel as if I had anything sitting on top of my skin after application.

To use simply melt the balm between your fingertips after cleansing your face & gently massage into your skin until absorbed.  Cleansing to remove in the morning.

I've been using this balm once a week for several weeks now & in terms of benefits have found the balm to help deeply moisturise my skin, which has been much needed after the summer.  As well as helping with a couple of small areas of dryness.

The second product I've been using is their Atlantic Kelp & Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash, a sulphate free reviving body cleanser that incorporates Atlantic Kelp Extract & Magnesium PCA that's perfect for application of a morning in the shower & reviving not only my body after my morning exercises but also my senses.  I simply pump a couple of applications onto a body puff & find this is more than enough to wash my whole body.  Whilst this product will nourish, smooth & tone your body, what's really special is the bottle is 100% recyclable with 20% being made from reclaimed ocean plastic.

The Ordinary AHA 30% + VHA 2% Peeling Solution

I've also recently treated myself to the above face mask on the recommendation of a friend who's a beautician who was also recommend by another beautician.  The only way I can describe this is that is looks a little like blood & that when I first applied it to my skin I was quite worried about what it would do as it certainly doesn't make you look your best & I've not tried peeling solutions before. But it's brilliant for exfoliating the topmost layer of skin to leave a brighter & smoother appearance.   I must admit I had visions of my skin being irritated or left dry & flaky but I've not experienced anything like that & there's no recovery time, just make sure to follow the instructions & only leave on for a maximum of 10 minutes twice a week.

Finally a couple of new make up updates.  Firstly I've decided to treat myself to a new blusher that's recently been launched & actually matches my favourite lip liner (see here).  The blusher is a gorgeous neutral consisting of a dusky pink & champagne shimmer that both contain luminous gold flecks that are perfect for adding a gorgeous glow & healthy sheen & who doesn't want a blusher that does that?!

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Pillowtalk lipstick

I also couldn't resist treating myself to the matching lipstick, which is a great alternative to my other favourite Charlotte Tilbury nude Bitch Perfect.  Unlike my other favourite the Pillowtalk is a matte lipstick so I apply a little of lip gloss over the top so soften the look.

Back to today & after an amazing night last night at Isabell Kristensen's fashion show, which still hasn't sunk in that I was actually there!  We're up early to make the most of our second day in Paris before starting our journey home this evening.  As we were only visiting Paris for such a short time today's look is similar to yesterday's & I've simply swapped the top half as I wanted to travel light & also keep plenty of room in my case should I get tempted by the odd purchase or two ;-)

Right I'm off to pound the streets & do some sightseeing & enjoy all things Paris.  It's been so lovely spending time with our son but I've missed hubby dreadfully so really looking forward to seeing him & the puppies this evening.

I'll be posting a picture of today's outfit over on Instagram, see here, as well as a few highlights of what we've been up to.  In the meantime have a great day ladies & as always I'll be back in the morning.
