When It's Meant To Be, It's Meant to Be!

Sometimes things are just meant to be & if the Shopping Fairy deems that you should buy something who are you to resist?! This happened to me yesterday whilst sneaking in a quick pitstop in a local Zara & I always listen to the Shopping Fairy much to the disgust of my poor hubby!!

Now there is one necklace I have in a couple of bright colour options which I love & which people always comment on, so when Zara introduced a third colour option last year in more muted & classic tones I thought about buying it but for some strange reason I developed willpower & was able to resist. That was of course until the said necklace became out of stock & suddenly multiple images of other bloggers & celebrities wearing said necklace began to taunt me. The result being that my inner green eyed monster reared its ugly head & I decided I simply 'had to have it!'

To continue on the theme of my persecution Zara even on a couple of occasions would suddenly display my 'can't live without necklace' & state that the item was due back in stock. So after breathing a HUGE sign of relief I would enter my email details to be notified when it was back in stock & impatiently awaited the 'ping' in my inbox of said email. However, despite waiting (im)patiently & being a good girl for the Shopping Fairy (well sort of!) the email never arrived & the item would disappear from their website :( I even looked at eBay to see if any were listed & discovered that sellers were selling the item for twice if not more its original price. But despite being tempted even I decided that if I couldn't get the necklace at its original price I wasn't going to be ripped off.

So fast forward a couple of months & despite still seeing lots of images of the said necklace & constantly realising just HOW useful I would have found it (why it would have gone with practically ALL of my wardrobe), I had given up the ghost. That was until yesterday when as I mentioned earlier I was partaking in a sneaky whizz through the ladies section, on the understanding to hubby that we'd just pop in & look at the shirts in menswear when I spied my 'must have, can't live without' necklace!!! Well I think hubby thought someone had put me on the fast forward setting as I launched across the store to grab the one & only necklace hanging up!

In fairness to hubby or perhaps he's just decided it's easier to pretend he also said how 'useful' I would find said necklace & now I'm the proud owner of this little beauty.

So what do you think? Okay perhaps you can't quite see why I was so desperate to track one down but I really think its going to be one of those pieces that gets worn time & time again, until of course I go to my wardrobe next week & decide I simply haven't got anything  to go with it!!!

Now apart from my success in the necklace department I have also had, I think, a little luck in the coloured jeans department. Coloured jeans are huge & whilst I love the look on others I have never been brave enough to purchase a colour in anything other than mind blowing blue, black, grey, cream & wait for it khaki!!! I have come close even trying a few pairs on in the comfort of my own home but have always chickened out telling myself I'd feel too self conscious to wear them out in public.

However upon cruising the internet the other day I came across a skinny pair in red on the GAP site which were reduced from £44.95 to £9.99 so decided for that price I really did have to hit the 'buy me' button. Having ordered two pairs & deciding on the larger size I have decided to just go for it, after all you only live once & they do look fab on everyone else I see wearing bright coloured jeans & these have a slight beige/camel coloured thread running through them so think they will look stunning with a white shirt & tan accessories.

Now one of the reasons I have gone for the larger size is because seeing as they are bright red I didn't want to go too skin tight & draw too much attention to my legs & as hubby doesn't like the 'baggy on the bum look' of boyfriend jeans this is probably as close as I will go to a loose fitting jean. Plus there's the added advantage that I can roll them up in the summer without cutting off blood circulation to my legs.

So here's a link to the website so you can see for yourself & perhaps join me in bagging a bargain, for £9.99 it really doesn't matter how many times I end up wearing them. Also I can suck it & see & who knows this may be the start of some bright jeans crush so consider yourselves duly warned!!!

In fact it seems to have been a bit of a denim week this week as I have also brought a light grey denim shirt from Zara, well I was on a necklace find high!! It's a really delicate grey in a slightly looser fit than my blue denim shirt & the fabric has the most gorgeous silky feel to it. Here's how I've styled it today.

So have you ever been after that 'must have item' & had the Shopping Fairy take pity on you? What about coloured jeans have you taken the plunge? I'd love to hear your thoughts & know how you style them.

Right I'm off to enjoy a catch-up-athon on the TV, several episodes of Revenge & Nashville here I come, which in my mind accompanied by something cool & chilled & preferably alcoholic with a few nibbles on the side is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Have a great Sunday & I'm hoping to report back mid week about my hopeful new brainwave on another use for spray starch!!! x
