The Perfect Transitional Addition For Your Wardrobe

We all have weaknesses in our wardrobes & one of mine is a great jacket.  No matter how many I have (& for the record I have a fair few & REALLY don't need any more) if I see a stunning little number I just know I'm not going to be able to resist.

Now in my defence I do get my wear out of said jackets as to be honest (& as you've probably now realised!!) they really are my 'go to' item, which I also happen to wear all year round not to mention for both day & evening.  Plus of course there are so many colour options out there not to mention styles that truly the possibilities are endless ;-)

So I'm sure you can imagine when Next very kindly sent me this jacket to style I was beyond excited.

Now for those of you that are less of the jacket/blazer wearing variety I can't praise jackets/blazers enough.  They really are so versatile & a great way for bringing an outfit together.  Plus as this warmer weather leaves us & the 'nip' in the air returns they're a great transitional piece, which will allow you to still be able to wear your summer/cooler tops not to mention camis, just think of them as a more structured form of cardigan.

In fact this crepe jacket from Next really is a cross between a jacket come cardigan as there are no lapels or collars to have to worry about, it has a bolero style feel & the most gorgeous three quarter length sleeves with turn back detail.

I also totally love the colour (of which I have nothing similar in my wardrobe!), which is perfect for this autumn/winter & goes well with so many different colours it's untrue (cream, navy, black, grey, white....I could go on!).  It's made from a gorgeous crepe material which not only means it looks extremely elegant, it also doesn't appear to crease & it's got pockets too!  In fact it's just one of those jackets that not only looks great for work but can also be worked into your weekend & going out wardrobe to create a lot of different looks.

So as soon as said jacket arrived I skipped up the stairs for a mass trying on session & whilst the aftermath wasn't pretty (think teenage girl getting ready to go out & casting her cast offs all over the floor....told you it wasn't pretty) I found there were many ways of styling said jacket.  Starting with this first option, where I teamed it with a little black dress, which let's face it depending on style & length of said dress would be great for either an office or evening out look.

Style One

Jacket - Next
Dress - Zara
Bracelet -
Belt - H&M
Shoes - Zara

Onto style number two & for this outfit I decided to 'rock' things up a bit & go for a bit of a more dressed down evening/date night kind of look with my faux leather skirt some boots & silver chunky jewellery.

Style Two

Jacket - Next
Necklace - New Look
T-Shirt - Zara
Bracelet - Banana Republic
Faux Leather Skirt
Boots - Next

For outfit three I've teamed it with my new H&M scarf (oh how I've missed having something round my neck) & was delighted to find that said scarf was a near perfect match in colour to the jacket so my new scarf will be coming in very handy indeedy over the next few months :-)

Style Three

Jacket - Next
Scarf - H&M
Top - Zara
Jeans - Zara
Gold Ballet Pumps - Massimo Dutti

Outfit four is a slightly less accessorised version of style three as I've lost the scarf but I wanted to show  just how fab the jacket looks when dressed down with distressed jeans & some ballet flats.

Style Four

Jacket - Next
Draped Top - Zara
Jeans - Zara
Gold Ballet Pumps - Massimo Dutti

I've dressed it up again in style five & teamed it with a faux leather trim skirt, my Zara chunky pearl necklace & my block heel gold ballet shoes.

Style Five

Jacket - Next
Top - Zara
Necklace - Zara
Bracelet - J Crew
Faux Leather Trim Skirt - Zara
Gold Heeled Ballet Pumps - Zara

Finishing with style six, which is probably my favourite as Bet's put in an appearance (well you don't think we'd go a whole post without a bit of leopard print did you!!!) & I'm loving my new 'biker' skinny jeans from H&M (which are also available in dark grey & khaki).

Style Six

Jacket - Next
Silver Glittery Top - Zara
Leopard Print bangle - Banana Republic
Jeans - H&M
Leopard Print Court Shoes - Next

Of course this is only a handful of looks & I'm already looking forward to trying the jacket with my black capris not to mention my navy wax effect jeans, which I think will look fab teamed with a navy sweatshirt.

And if you're after a trouser suit for Autumn Next also do matching crepe trousers which would be ideal for work & a great way to make another outfit with the jacket.

Finishing as always with a round up of my outfits from the last few days & possibly the last of my summer looks for this year.

So what do you think, do you have a favourite look?  Are you a jacket lover like myself & share the same weakness?  Or perhaps you're able to resist jackets as they seem to much like 'work' clothing but have another huge weakness instead? Maybe you've been eyeing up this little number from Next & wondering whether to invest or indeed how to style it.  Or perhaps you like the idea of jackets/blazers but never know how to style them for a weekend.

As always I'd love to hear your views & comments.  I'm off to enjoy having hubby home from his latest jaunt across the Big Pond having being delayed due to a cancelled flight & having only walked through the door this morning.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
