Morning ladies, today I wanted to show you a couple of new pieces I've been lucky enough to have been sent by Monks On Vacation.
Now you may recall that I reviewed a few of their pieces a few months ago (see here) & since then I can honestly say that their Popper Jacket & Rushy Pants are now my go to in terms of lounge wear. I think we can all agree that whilst most of us will love the excuse of dressing up there is nothing nicer than shutting that door & slipping into something comfy & these pieces are not only incredibly comfortable they have the added benefit of being stylish to, not to mention they hold their shape well.
So having fallen head over in heels in love with the pieces I'd previously reviewed I was intrigued to see if other items would live up to my high expectations.
As you will no doubt know by now I love a monochrome outfit or two so with the idea that I could intermix the pieces I'd previously received I decided to pick their long sleeve slouch top & their Madeleine skirt, which has the added advantage that it can be worn at various lengths turning it from a maxi skirt, to a midi skirt to above the knee.
As you'll see from the above photo the cut & fit of the garments is exquisite & they really don't need many accessories to finish the outfit. I've kept the above look extremely simple & just added a leather wrap around belt for a little more definition on my waist.
Like the previously pieces their quality is amazing & of the highest quality & as you'll see from the below image the slouch top drapes beautifully. It's a gorgeous light weight fabric consisting of 50% cotton & 50% polyester that is loosely fitting on the body with fitted sleeves & raw seams to give it a modern feel. For anyone that likes to cover up in the sun this would make the perfect beach cover - stylish & would keep you covered & protected but lightweight enough not to leave you sweltering in the heat.
As for the skirt it has just the right amount of lycra to ensure the skirt fits your body shape perfectly without being skintight & too clingy. Changing the length couldn't be easier either & is just a matter of folding over the waistband to your desired length. I'm wearing a S in both items & would say these are perfect for a UK 8-10.
Not only do these items make a stylish outfit when teamed together they're also perfect for mixing with other items too.
In the below picture I've teamed the slouch top with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, statement flats & a classic straw panama.

Right time to get on & get the day started. Hope everyone has a great Saturday - a normal one for us with the usual Saturday chores & karate run but counting the hours until it's time to chill & watch a film or two.
See you in the morning & don't forget Boden's latest offer see here for details.

Hi Jane, does the skirt have a slit up the back? Just wondering how easy it is to walk in. Love your blog and read it every day - so inspiring! Debs x
ReplyDeleteHi Debs this skirt doesn't but they do do another maxi skirt that has a split (black rib split skirt). Although I haven't found this skirt to be restrictive at all & I know I take quite long strides when I walk. In fact until you mentioned it, it hadn't crossed my mind!
DeleteHope this helps & thank you for the lovely comment & following me.
Enjoy your weekend.
Jane xx
I love skirts with leather jackets! Great look the last one!
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat the two teamed together can you Nancy.
DeleteHope you've had a great weekend.
