my midlife fashion, cult51 day cream, cult 51 night cream

Morning ladies today I want to talk about some new beauty products I've been trying.

First up face cream.  As you can see here, I use a variety of brands including some gels & creams that I buy from a chemist in Majorca & also sell on my site.

I think most of us, as we get older start paying more attention to our skin as the inevitable signs of ageing start.  I know having suffered with problem skin as a teenager I've been very wary of creams & applying them to my skin as I've always worried they'd make my combination skin more greasy & it has only been in the past few years that I've given them a try.

I was recently approached by CULT51 to see if I would be interested in trialling their moisturisers & because I'm happy with the products I currently use my initial instinct was to say no.  However, on looking at their website I noticed that their products are developed by chemist Richard Mears so I was intrigued as I've been really impressed by the products I buy from the pharmacist I know in Majorca.  Plus I really like the idea of the simplicity of their range - just a day cream, night cream & a serum.  As who wants a bathroom littered with lots of pots & tubes if you can keep everything streamline?!  Plus with the promise of 'more youthful, brighter, firmer skin from the first application' I just couldn't resist giving them a whirl.

As you can see from the above pictures the products come beautifully packaged & certainly have a real luxury feel about them.  The above picture shows the day cream to the left & the night cream on the right.  Both are fairly light in texture, absorb into the skin really easily & a little goes a long way.

Application is quick & easy with both products being applied to freshly cleansed skin (I've also still been using my Hyaluronic gel in between cleansing & applying the cream) to the face, neck & décolleté.  Plus you even apply it to the eye contour area too.

Not tested on animals the creams also come with a leaflet that contains 51 reasons why you should give the creams a go.  I won't list them all here but the ones that caught my attention in particular were:-
  • Long term lasting result
  • Up to 52% reduction in the appearance of wrinkles after 28 days
  • Instantly tightens with immediate effect
  • Instantly lifts & firms the skin tissue
  • Dramatically slows the ageing process
  • Reduces the appearance of age spots
  • Encourages the skin to produce natural hyaluronic acid
  • Reduces fine lines & wrinkles
  • Skin complexion becomes more luminous & radiant
  • Dramatically brightens
I don't know if it's because I'd read the card with the 51 reasons but on the first application of the day cream I felt my skin had more of a glow to it & it created a lovely smooth base to apply my make up.  In fact my mum happened to pop in on that day & commented how well my skin looked & she didn't know I'd got a new cream on!

So how have I got on with the creams?  Well I've been using them for 3 weeks now & I have to say I'm really impressed.  My skin looks better, smoother & more youthful, which is just what it needed after the harsh affects from the summer sun so definitely an all round improvement.  I've not tried their serum, which is used on the eye area but based on how I've got on with the day & night cream I'd certainly be keen to give it a go.

Talking of the effects of the sun on our skin I've also been sent a Skin Health Package from the Beauty Expert, who you might recall I previously featured here.  The bundle sent has been compiled to look after our skin's health as whilst we might all exercise & eat healthily, as we get older we also need to pay more attention to our skin & the affects from the environment, which might for example make it more sensitive.

As you can see from my photo above the products arrive in one of the most nicest toilet bags I've ever seen.  A great size for storing everything in when travelling & in a lovely light elegant shade of grey.

So what was included this month?  Well lots of products that are perfect for giving your skin that little bit extra TLC after the summer months.

Omorovicza Gold Shimmer Oil

First up is this lovely body shimmer oil that contains small gold particles to highlight & illuminate the skin.  This smells absolutely gorgeous & the oil soaks into my skin really quickly plus it isn't too sparkly just very subtle.  I've actually been applying it of an evening & mixing it with my Clarins Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster to prolong my tan.

Vita Liberata Ten Minute Tan

Talking of tans, the bundle also includes the above self tan.  I've applied this a couple of times, with this tanning mitt, which is also included in this month's package.  Now because my skin has still got the remains of my tan from our summer holidays I've left this on for about 30 minutes.  The cream is easy to apply & doesn't smell like most fake tans & it did slightly deepen my tan, although I imagine if I used it in a few more weeks when my tan has all but faded the difference will be more noticeable.

Filorga UV Bronze Mist

Now I've not tried this next product as we've not had the weather but luckily for me I will get chance to use it in a couple of weeks when we fly out to Dubai for our 20th wedding anniversary - I CAN'T WAIT :-)  So with temperatures due to be nice & hot this bronze mist will be perfect for protecting my face whilst giving me a hopefully healthy glow.

Pai Kuki & Jojoba Skin Brightening Exfoliator

This next product, which I'm currently using at the moment is a lovely gentle exfoliator that brightens & nourishes.  Easy to apply & leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.

Pai Skincare Camellia & rose gentle hydrating cleanser

I've also been using the above cleanser & not only is it gentle on the skin, it also removes make up, including eye make up, although I generally also still use my existing eye make up remover prior to application due to my heavy eyeliner.  I love the fact that this is washed off with water, as for some reason I just don't get on that well with creams or gels that aren't & I absolutely love the skin cloth that comes with the cleanser, which has a soft terry side for sensitive skin/areas & also a slightly more textured side for gentle exfoliating.

La roche posay toleriane ultra fluid

This next product is from one of my favourite skincare brands & something I've not previously tried.  A lovely lightweight moisturiser that soothes & hydrates it's particularly perfect for anyone suffering from sensitive skin.

Now this last product I was extremely excited by.  I've previously looked at & considered taking a supplement to help & improve the signs of ageing that will benefit my skin, hair & nails but have always talked myself out of it, a - due to cost & b - because I already take several daily supplements.  So I was keen to see if I noticed any improvement.  I've only been taking the tablets for a couple of weeks & started them a few days after starting my CULT51 creams but there is a definite improvement to my skin & I've noticed that when I've in fact you can buy them 3 for 2  on the above link plus if you use code 'RENEW' you can get 20% off making them almost half price so I've just ordered more supplies :-)

Back to fashion now & here's what I'm wearing today.  I'm absolutely loving this Marks skirt, it's so flattering & fab for teaming with a biker & trainers like today.

So ladies anyone tried any of the products featured today?  Or perhaps keen to give any of them a go?  I'm definitely impressed by CULT51's skin creams & have high hopes for the Collagen+ tablets.  Plus the Pai Hydrating Cleanser has definitely persuaded me to remove my cleanser with a cloth instead of just splashing my face with water.

Don't forget I'll be ordering somemore of the hyaluronic gel & triple retinol cream from Majorca at the end of the week, so just contact me here if you're interested.

Enjoy your day ladies & as always I'll be back in the morning.
