Morning ladies I've been trialling some new beauty products over the past few weeks so today I thought I'd share those products with you & let you know my thoughts.
Now if you've taken a peek at my skincare page you'll know I'm a huge fan of Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster For Face, their Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster For Body & their Fix Make-Up but apart from these products it's been a good few years since I last tried any of the skincare. So when they recently got in touch to see if I'd like to trial their new Extra-Firming Day & Night creams I was intrigued to see what I thought.
Both the Day & Night creams have been designed with the aid of a new ingredient - Kangaroo Flower, which helps plump & firm the skin, leaving the skin looking visibly firmer. This together with Moonstone Hydrated Silica, an ingredient contained in their Extra-Firming Night Cream that helps optimise the skin's night time regeneration process has resulted in two products that 'visibly promotes the skin's elasticity, reinforces the links of firmness & leaves the face expressive without wrinkles leaving their mark'.
Now prior to trialling these creams I was really happy with my moisturisers & I must admit I'm always a little hesitant when I'm approach about trialling new ones as I know what works for my skin. However, I'd heard good things about the new Clarins products so was keen to see any results for myself.
I've been using these products together with my hyaluronic gel & their Double Serum (that stimulates the 5 vital functions for healthy skin - hydration, nutrition, oxygenation, regeneration & protection) for just over 4 weeks now & I'm really pleased by the results. When I first started using the products my skin was showing the strains of recent ill health & the effects of a long hard winter but even after only just a couple of days of use I thought I could see a difference (although you never quite know if it's just you imaging things with a new product do you?). So I was delighted when my mum commented on how good my skin was looking & that it had a nice glow within a week of the first application. Especially as she has been telling me to rest up & that my skin had aged due to ill health & I must take it easy - mothers they/we never change do we!
As I've already mentioned the creams have given my skin it's glow back & also helped firm those areas that needed a little more attention. Plus in terms of the application both creams are lovely & light & soak immediately into the skin. They even smell gorgeous too & the same goes for the serum, which scared me when I first opened it as it looked oily. However, due to the handy application that ensures you get the right amount of product for your skin type there's no residue left on the skin & again it soaks immediately in & despite my fears doesn't even feel oily. So would I recommend the products? Well definitely & if that's not enough to convince you I can confirm my mum has already invested!
This next product was also sent to me by Clarins & was a lovely surprise. It's perfect for anyone counting down to a sunshine holiday. I used to use this moisturising after sun many moons ago when my husband & I first got together & in fact on our first ever holiday so as soon as I opened the bottle it immediately took me back to those memories & days. If you like an after sun that has a small amount of tan in then this is for you plus it smells absolutely gorgeous with no hint of fake tan. I've already stored this safely with my swimwear ready for our summer holiday & can't wait to use it as it really does help prolong & deepen your natural tan.
Talking of moisturisers for the body I've also been trialling out a new REN Skincare product that I was sent.
This new AHA Smart Renewal Body Serum is perfect for getting our bodies summer ready & bringing out our inner natural glow as the serum is designed to help the skin trigger it's natural exfoliation process. So not only does it improve the skins texture it also instantly hydrates & smoothes the skin. I've been applying this every evening & mixing in a little of my Radiance Booster to give my body a sunkissed look.
Moving onto cleansers now & I'm a huge fan of cleansing my face with some foam cleanser that involves water, as in the past when I've tried oil based or cream cleansers I've never felt my face was fully cleansed & my skin has felt like there was still product on the surface. So I was interested to try some of Caudalie's new cleansing products when they recently got in touch about their new launch.
I was sent their Instant Foaming Cleanser, something which is very similar to products I like to use & their Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil.
As their Instant Foaming Cleanser is within my comfort zone I tried this product first & found it to be a lovely light foam. As with most foaming cleansers it's simply applied & smoothed onto the skin & rinsed off with water. A great quick & easy product for cleansing your face that can equally be used in the shower.
The other cleanser I was sent from their cleansing range (see here) was their Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil which not only cleanses but dissolves all make up including waterproof. The difference to this product to others that I've tried is that after applying the product to dry skin you then emulsify with a little water & importantly for me finish by rinsing it off your face. For me I found this so much better than previous oils where you're not supposed to use water to remove the product.
I found both cleansers to be effective & if you're on the lookout for a new cleanser it really comes down to preference but surprisingly I preferred the cleansing oil, which left my skin feeling truly cleansed with no traces of product remaining.
The final product Caudalie sent me was their Glycolic Peel, which has been designed to give dull skin an instant boost & radiance & is a mixture of face scrub & a peel. The mask should be used twice a week & is applied to cleansed skin, before being rinsed off after 10 minutes. There's probably not many of us not suffering with dull skin after the winter we've had so this product is perfect for giving our skins an extra boost whilst waiting for the summer to arrive & is definitely something I'm incorporating into my weekly skin regime.
Finally a couple of products I treated myself to. Firstly one that if you only treat yourself to one new beauty product this season I highly recommend & that's the new Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. I was given a sample that was a little dark but I was so impressed I ordered my correct skin shade & it's not just me that thinks it's a brilliant new product, her website is full of glowing reviews, in fact I'd go as far as to say it's a must have. I love it so much that I'm planning on getting a darker shade before we go on holiday this summer as it will be perfect for evening out skin tone for an evening without the need for foundation. It really does make your skin glow but not in a sparkly glitter way just an inner peace healthy way. I've had so many people comment on my skin since I started wearing it!
And whilst at the counter I couldn't resist getting Charlotte's new Legendary Lashes Volume 2. Not only does it lengthen your lashes but unlike the first addition this one is longwearing, smudge proof & humidity resistant. I must admit I'm loving it & it really does lengthen your lashes.
Back to today & it's a simple look for a quiet Sunday at home so Sunday stripes it is :-)
