So less than a week since our return & the holiday already seems a dim & distant memory. In fact such a lovely time was had by all that we've already started to look at dates & flights for next year....not quite started a new countdown but after the last couple of days very nearly!!! Why is it that after your first day back at work by the time you've caught up on missed work & emails you're already in need of another break?!!
As I mentioned in my last post today's blog is all about what I took to wear in the evening. As I've said before I try to take clothes
that can work for both day & evening....so yes you will spot quite a few of the
tops from my previous post featured here to…& whilst I may have previously admitted to
being a bit of a Waynetta I promise that as my daytime outfits are literally
worn for a maximum of an hour each morning....I’m not that minging & you couldn't smell me (unless of course it was my perfume) before you saw me….honest!!!!
So one of the things I
love most about holidays is that generally (& within reason!!!) anything
goes & it can be a great excuse to try something a little out of your
comfort zone not to mention a great excuse to dress up. And having now worn my
jumpsuit while away, I am totally in love with it & already planning on
when I can wear it next!
As I have said in a previous blog I was determined this year
to try & make lighter work when deciding what clothes to take away so with this in mind I decided to stick to mainly monochrome pieces with the odd splash of
colour & of course leopard print.
Which seeing as I have some lovely coloured items at home I had to work hard at resisting but the great thing about taking mainly a couple
of colours of clothing meant that it was so easy to mix & match &
create a different outfit by just changing the top or bottoms & adding some
different accessories. And of course on
the plus side it means that all my bright coloured clothing was all lovely
& clean & awaiting my return :-)
So no more rambling & without further ado here’s my evening attire from the hols!

So how do you think I've done? Do you think I've managed to achieve my goal of a capsule wardrobe or do you think I still need to cut down?
As always I love reading your comments & if I've given you some inspiration I'd love to hear from you.
Right before my eyes close of their own accord & refuse to open till the sun starts to rise in the morning, I'm off to hit the sack....early start in the morning! See you in a few days with my cheeky purchases from the holidays xx
Fantastic post Jane!! You have really cracked the whole packing malarkey!! Taking lots of separates and pretty much sticking to the monochrome theme is genius!! Love all of the holiday looks and will definitely be looking over this post next time I need some packing inspiration!! Michelle x
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle....such lovely comments from a seriously stylish lady has made my day :-) Think this is the first year that everything I took actually got worn which makes a change!!! Although still lots of washing & ironing on our return!!! x
DeleteWow Jane, you have holiday looks well and truly nailed. I love every look, glam factor just right. You've achieved what most of us can only dream about, looking good day and night. Please tell me you had bad, humid hair, you can't be that perfect on holiday, lol. Xxx
ReplyDeleteGosh thanks Jo....although I bet you look equally stylish too & you'll be pleased to know I have been known to suffer from humid hair....think Monica & Friends!!!!! Whatever did we do before hair straighteners lol x
DeleteI love all the looks, particularly the red/orange Zara top with the Leopard print trousers ( a complete wow look ) I think that the jumpsuit looks like it was custom made, such a fantastic fit. You have certainly given your' packing a lot of thought and it really pays off. I always have plenty of 'unworn' bits and bobs and I always scratch my head wondering what was I thinking? I will write down, 100 times, 'I must not make the same mistakes again, re read Jane's packing tips post.'
ReplyDeleteH x
Lol thanks Helen.....I know with me the temptation is to always take all my favourite clothes away with me but I really tried to reign myself in this year! x
DeleteAarrggh! Stupid laptop! For some reason, over half your photos wouldn't open for me .. but those I did see were wow! Such a clever idea to stick with a monochrome palette. Looking as fab as always
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen...not sure why the photos aren't uploading don't think it's this end as they're appearing ok on my screen x
DeleteGorgeous outfits, Jane. I particularly love the leopard print trousers with the red and the cream tops - fab! I have those M&S flip flops too - aren't they lovely? Go with everything too. Lynne x
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynne & yes those M&S flip flops are fab - comfort with a bit of bling...what's not to love :-) x
DeleteI think you did really well with a fab range of looks. I didn't stand a chance of taking outfit pics as there was no mirror in my apartment, lots of pics of my shoes though lol! We only got back last night and are looking at dates for next year. A week isn't enough I want longer next year x
ReplyDeleteSharron I saw some of your sandals on Instagram....totally gorgeous!! We tend to try and go for 12 nights....longer than a week but not quite a fortnight so gives you a couple of days to get straight before heading back to work...although of course if I was offered a longer break I wouldn't say no!!! x
DeleteJane, you look so amazing. I love your leopard trousers. I think you have well and truly nailed it. Love Liz xxx www.whatlizzyloves.blogspot.co.uk
ReplyDeleteThanks Liz, must admit to resisting the trousers for about 6 months but in the end just had to get them x
DeleteLove the belts - totally change an outfit!
ReplyDeleteI'd be totally lost without these belts Rosanna, in fact I may have just brought a new black one for autumn/winter seeing as I wear them so much! x
